Carbazole is an organic compound, it is a by-product of anthracene oil production from coal tar, it can be separated by distillation and extraction by using the high boiling point of carbazole and its high solubility in pyridine, dialkyl sulfoxide, dialkyl formamide, it is a colorless crystalline solid and has an aroma. Carbazole is stable at room temperature, insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. It is strongly alkaline. Carbazole is often used as dyes, paints, plastic additives and other industrial fields.
